Taco Tour
Everyone here is always talking about tacos. It's only natural, considering that some sources put Austin as the foremost purveyor of the breakfast variant. Whatever your style, we've got a long list of top-notch taco joints here, usually served from a trailer, the way they should be. Come ride around and find out.
El Primo
A no-frills, family-owned trailer serving up the best breakfast tacos in Austin. The Perez family also runs the Burrito Factory restaurant in the Dobie Mall, which has been keeping UT students going during exams for almost 20 years.

Discada
Discada only serves one kind of taco: a variety of meats and aromatics cooked on a discada, or tractor plow disc, served on smaller Mexico City-style tortillas. Declared by Austin Monthly to be the best taco joint on the East Side, this trailer regularly tops the city's best-of lists.

Las Trancas
An authentic, unpretentious trailer serving up cheap and delicious late-night meals. A favorite among the service industry locals, including our guides.
Nixta
The head chef of Nixta, Edgar Rico, was crowned the James Beard Emerging Chef of 2022. However, don’t be fooled by the duck confit and yellowfin tuna - Nixta is a laid-back place, all about community, and that means that the food is by the people, for the people.

Note: As Nixta is a popular restaurant, the wait may be long. Let us know beforehand; we will leave you off here as the last stop.
Veracruz All Natural

Another local gem, Veracruz is run by a pair of sisters who learned their craft at the feet of their mother. Well-known for its breakfast tacos and smoothies, Veracruz has created national buzz and expanded to several locations within the city.
Tour highlights include:

Güero’s
One of the classic Austin restaurants and prominently featured in the Tarantino movie Death Proof, Güero’s has been delighting diners and drinkers on SoCo for over thirty years. It also offers top-notch margaritas and a variety of Mexican beers.
